Terry Cutler's cybersecurity journey began in the '90s, when he discovered his passion for computers at age 10. He embarked on a career in IT and eventually joined a software vendor called Novell in the early 2000s. In 2004, inspired by shows like CSI and 24, he pursued a course in ethical hacking to understand cyberattacks and how to defend against them.
After completing the course, Terry became an expert in cybersecurity, working to educate the public about online safety. He wrote blogs, created videos, and gained recognition from media outlets like CTV, Global News, CBC, and PBS. He also gave presentations to schools on topics like cyberbullying and sextortion.
To reach a broader audience, Terry developed a digital course called Internet Safety University, which now has over 39,000 students from 150 countries. He received numerous awards and accolades for his contributions to cybersecurity and was named the most influential person in the field in 2018, 2019 and 2020 by IFSEC.
In 2020, Terry authored a book, distilled from his online work, which remains an Amazon bestseller. To further help consumers and business owners stay safe online, he launched an app called "Fraudster," designed to educate users about the latest scams in simple terms.
Today, Terry runs Cyology Labs Labs, a Montreal-based cybersecurity service provider, offering auditing and managed services to businesses. His journey serves as an inspiration in the field of cybersecurity. See the full story at www.TerryCutler.com/about
